In 1970 the companies in the Spanish gas sector set up Sedigas, the Spanish Gas Association, with the aim of promoting the deregulation of the market and its role as a key element in the economic development and quality of life of future generations.

Clean, safe and efficient: thanks to the abundant and geographically diverse reserves, its high energy content, facilitating its use in highly energy-efficient technologies, and its environmental characteristics and versatile applications, natural gas has a lower environmental impact than any other conventional form of energy, thus making it an essential source in order to meet demand and serve as back-up for renewable energy on the global energy scenario of the 21st century.
