Young Gastech will take place on Tuesday 18 September alongside the main conference.
It is a free-to-attend programme aimed at final year university students, graduates and young energy professionals with 12-18 months experience. Open to just 100 applicants Young Gastech provides unprecedented opportunities for individuals looking to establish a career in the energy industry.
The programme will welcome senior figures in energy, along with young professionals, as they share their experiences on working in the commercial and technical sectors of the industry.
Key themes being discussed through the day will include:
- “Why Did I Choose a Career in Energy?”: Stories from Leading Industry Veterans
- “An Industry in Transition”: Outlook for the Gas & Energy Industry to 2050
- "Attracting (and Retaining) the Next Talent to the Industry”: How Can Energy Promote its Brand to Millennials?
- “One Day in My Life”: Snapshots of Careers in the Industry
Attendees to Young Gastech will also be able to benefit to access to the full Gastech Conference programme.
How to attend?
Applicants are required to complete the Young Gastech application form and submit an optional 1000-word essay on the subject "What primary roles will natural gas play in delivering global energy needs in 2040, and how can it help in delivering lower-carbon economies in the process?". Applications must be made by Friday 24 August. Submit your application here.
Essay submissions will be reviewed by the Gastech Governing body and there will the opportunity for one lucky applicant to take the stage of the Gastech conference to present their essay on the final day of the event.
