Santiago has 12+ years of domestic and international experience in Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) business in the Oil & Gas sector, especially in the field of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).? Previously, he was granted a two-year research scholarship at university and worked for a leading precast concrete Spanish company.? He joined Tecnicas Reunidas (TR) in 2006 and started off with the 5th LNG storage tank EPC project in Cartagena (Spain).? After assuming increasing responsibilities within different LNG projects, he was promoted to head of LNG Tanks department at TR in 2012, the position he currently holds.??? Santiago graduated in Civil Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) in 1999 and subsequently in Materials Engineering.? In 2010, he completed his PhD degree at UPM University, with a dissertation on the degradation of concrete by corrosion of reinforcing steel.? More recently, he became an International Welding Engineer (IWE) by the IIW (International Institute of Welding).? He has received numerous academic awards and has published several articles in national and international specialized journals.
