Marcelino Oreja is Enagás’ Chief Executive Officer since September 2012. Currently, he is also Board Member of MIBGAS, Trustee of the Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection Foundation and Trustee of Transforma España Foundation.
Marcelino Oreja is an Industrial Property Agent, is graduated as Industrial Engineer (ICAI) and holds two postgraduate certifications: a Global CEO Program and a MBA (Advanced Management Program), both from IESE Business School.
Between 1992 and 1997 he was General Secretary of the Spanish Confederation of Young Entrepreneurs, working closely with the Spanish Confederation of Entrepreneurs. During that time he advised companies such as COMET or SERVICOM on international development and strategy. He is the founder of the patents and trademarks company DEF-4 which he subsequently sold to Garrigues Andersen in 1997, becoming CEO. He has held other senior roles including International Director at Aldeasa, CEO of EMTE and, following its merger with COMSA, CEO of COMSA EMTE (Spain’s second largest unlisted infrastructure and technology group). He was also Chairman of railway company FEVE.
Mr Oreja was a Member of the European Parliament between 2002 and 2004 and a board member of Ente Vasco de la Energía.
