Ben has been in the energy industry for 20 years, starting out as a boots on the ground roughneck on a gas drilling rig. He worked his way up through critical upstream engineering and analyst roles with major industry players, such as Exxon and BP. While at BP, Ben led a global effort to manage the major well service providers using field derived operational reports, participating as the analyst in C-suite level meetings. Ben doesn’t just know the ins and outs of oil and gas producers, but understands and is deeply interested in the broader commodity markets as well. He moved from the upstream and worked a number of years on a major gas trading floor, providing forecasts for North American Gas Production and analysis of NYMEX, regional gas and electricity markets. Here at Genscape, Ben supports our gas forecasting and monitoring efforts, including Gas Production, LNG and Proprietary Storage monitoring. He is venturing into a whole new intelligence space, harnessing our technology to provide insight into equity interests such as Tesla, a first-of-its-kind production intel product. He’s been invited to speak at numerous industry events, including larger industry forums where he has spoken and moderated, and he interacts regularly with the media.
