Gas & LNG: Fueling The Energy Transition

LNG demand is forecast to double to 700 million tonnes by 2040, with gas playing a significant role in shaping a lower-carbon energy system, particularly in Asia, where South and South-east Asia are forecast to generate more than half of the increased demand. As the world starts to emerge from the shadow of COVID-19, Gastech 2021 will engage with, and address, the key issues and most promising opportunities for the gas, LNG and energy industry in the 4th industrial age.

Gastech 2021 will take place in Singapore, an epicentre for trade across Asia, reflecting the rapid shift Asian economies are making towards natural gas and LNG to meet their sustainable energy demands. Collaboration and partnerships will be the key to recovery for the industry. Gastech 2021 will bring together Ministers, global business leaders, innovators, disruptors and industry experts to share the latest innovations, processes and solutions from across the entire value chain.

South Korea

The energy business continues to grow. It was a big bet on gas and particularly in energy, and in the near term, but also in the long term, we still continue to see that validated as an important and growing part of the energy system."

Maarten Wetselaar

Integrated Gas & New Energies Director and Member of the Executive Committee, Shell

The case for natural gas as a key component in the world's future energy mix is clear. As we recognise that economic development and environmental progress must go hand in hand, natural gas and LNG offer a solution for more prosperous and sustainable future."

Alex Volkov

Vice President, Global LNG Marketing, ExxonMobil

We're quite optimistic on the growth and need of natural gas and LNG across the world for some time to come, especially in Asia. We see it eventually as competing with coal on a long-term basis both from a social cost perspective in terms of GHG emissions and even potentially on a price basis for a long time."
