Chris Rumley is a Senior LNG and Natural Gas Consultant at Poten & Partners’ Perth office. Chris has more than 18 years of experience in the fields of LNG, commodity forecasting and economic analysis. He is a Japanese speaker and focuses on commercial, market and project development aspects of the LNG and natural gas business in the Asia Pacific region. Chris rejoined Poten at its Houston office in 2015 after previously working for the company in Perth from 2007 – 2012. Between 2012 and 2015, Chris worked on the Gorgon LNG Project as the Operating Committee representative for Tokyo Gas Australia’s interest in the venture. He has wide ranging expertise in gas and LNG upstream and downstream commercial matters and analysis related to LNG shipping, ADP development, LNG supply, demand & pricing and gas and LNG project developments (upstream, pipelines and LNG plants, shipping and import terminals). Earlier in his career Chris worked as a Commodity Analyst and Research Economist in the Energy and Minerals Branch at the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics (ABARE) in Canberra and held a technical sales role at a Japanese trading house. Chris has a Master of Economics degree from Kyoto University.
