Miaoru Huang is Wood Mackenzie’s Research Director based in Beijing. She leads China and Northeast Asia research and is a core member of WoodMac’s global gas and LNG markets team. Miaoru focuses on demand forecasts, industrial themes, gas balance, contracting trends, and corporate dynamics. She supports various consulting projects and represents WoodMac in the China energy community as well.
Before joining WoodMac, Miaoru was with Rio Tinto as Senior Advisor – Energy & Climate Strategy where she analysed energy trends in Asian markets and supported power procurement and commercial initiatives.
Miaoru holds a master’s degree in Management Science and Engineering from Tsinghua University and a joint master's degree in Energy Management from École des Mines de Paris.
Miaoru is fluent in Mandarin, English, and Cantonese.
