Mr. Deepak Gupta is a Mechanical Engineer, a Delhi College Engineering alumnus, with more than 33 years of rich and diverse experience in Oil and Gas Sector encompassing Project Management, Construction Management and Business Development functions. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) by the PMI, USA.

He has comprehensive and extensive experience in Project Management of Refinery, Petrochemical and Pipeline Projects from concept to commissioning and has led the successful execution of several Projects in India in all modes of Project implementation.

Presently, as Director (Projects) in GAIL, he is responsible for the Operation & Maintenance of ~17000 Km pipeline network, Gas Processing Units, Compressor & Booster stations, Implementation of pipeline projects PAN India, SCADA and Telecommunication Network along the pipeline and Contracts & Purchase functions.  

He was instrumental in leading the implementation of multi-billion dollar 650 KBPSD Dangote Refinery and 830 KTA Polypropylene Project in Nigeria. He has also led the implementation of one of the largest Polymer facilities for HMEL at Bathinda, besides several other refinery & Petrochemical projects in India and Overseas.

Mr. Gupta has authored several papers and books sharing his experiences and ideas for fast tracking Project execution.  Several key innovations and initiatives proposed by him are now a part of the best execution practices and strategies. His special interests include project implementation innovations, strategy formulation, business growth initiatives, system improvement and digitalisation - for fast track project execution.
