Mr. Shan Tongwen, a professor and senior engineer, is one of CNOOC’s leading experts on natural gas and power generation. He has over 30 years of experience in offshore engineering and LNG, being particularly adept at marine engineering and natural gas technology. He worked as an offshore engineer and engineering project manager at the CNOOC Research Institute before 2007, and later joined CNOOC Gas and Group to focus on R&D of LNG technology. From 2021 to 2023, Prof. Shan successively served as Deputy CEO and CEO of the Science & Information Technology Department at CNOOC. He is currently a senior adviser of CNOOC Group. As the author of several works and theses, he is also a leader or key member of multiple national, provincial, and ministerial-level scientific research projects and specification projects, as well as the creator of more than 50 patents.
