Anne Lapierre is global head of the energy practice at Norton Rose Fulbright leading over 1000 strong team of energy lawyers and co-heads our Casablanca office. She is currently the driving force behind the firms’ strategy to support clients in managing the energy transition and the decarbonisation of their business.Throughout her career, Anne has specialised in first of its kind, ground breaking energy projects and has been a leading voice in energy transition. She sat for 12 years at the board of France Energie Eolienne (FEE), the French wind association and sits since 2017 as an independent market expert on Bertrand Piccard’s Solar Impulse Foundation’s Strategic Committee. She is also a member of the French Association for Hydrogen (France Hydrogène – Formerly “AFHYPAC”) that ensures the animation of the hydrogen industrial sector in France, as well as the Moroccan Federation for Energy. On top of renewables transactions, Anne is currently assisting on carbon offset transactions, green hydrogen projects and energy efficiency solutions.Anne was a leading adviser on the innovative solar industry scale-up initiative led by IRENA and TWI aimed at providing freely available ‘open source’ standardised contract documentation, designed to simplify solar power transactions. The project was set up to support the rapid and widespread scale-up of solar energy, in line with goals of the Paris Climate Agreement and Sustainable Development Goals.Anne also provided legal and regulatory assistance to the World Bank in the context of the Solar Risk Mitigation Initiative (SRMI), an integrated approach to tackle policy, technical and financial issues associated with scaling up solar energy deployment, especially in some of the world’s poorest countries.Anne had numerous recognitions: she ranked among the 50 most influential lawyers in Africa by publication Jeune Afrique, she has been included in A Word About Wind’s prestigious international Women’s Power List Top 100, and for several years she was recognized as Lawyer of the year in the Financing & Project development sector by Best Lawyers.
