Specialist in energy, oil & gas and sustainability with more than 35 years of experience, Ardenghy is a former diplomat who held various senior positions in the Brazilian government at the Presidency of the Republic, the National Petroleum Agency, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Justice, Development, as well as at Embassies and Consulates of Brazil in Washington, Buenos Aires, Houston, and New York. In the private sector, he served as Director of BG Brazil and he was the first Chief Institutional and Sustainability Officer of Petrobras with responsibility over the areas of external relations, communication, communities and social impact and environment. Under his leadership, Petrobras positioned itself to tackle climate change. He holds a degree in Law, a post-graduate degree in oil and natural gas and a master’s degree in diplomacy and international relations. He is currently President of the Brazilian Institute of Oil and Gas (IBP) and board member of the Brazil-United States Chambers of Commerce in Houston, New York, and Rio de Janeiro.
