Rodrigo joined Galp in the middle of 2021 and is focused on transforming Galp’s global commodities supply, trading and energy management businesses to thrive through the energy transition. With over 25 years of experience in the energy sector, he has specialized in leading and transforming energy trading businesses and in unlocking value through innovative energy solutions based on strong partnerships. Rodrigo has a Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in Integrated Power Systems, he has a Master’s Degree (M.Sc.) in Economics, and an Executive MBA from the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University. Rodrigo was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, where he spent the first half of his career working for Eletrobras, ONS (the Brazilian National Power System Operator) and Petrobras, where he led the Marketing and Trading businesses for Power, Gas, LNG and Distribution. The second half of his career was spent mostly in Houston, Texas (USA) and London (United Kingdom), where Rodrigo was leading BP’s Global Power and Infrastructure team.
