Following a seagoing engineer career on LNG carriers and Superintendency with Golar LNG, Johan joined BSM Isle of Man as Technical Superintendent in 2003, progressing to Project Manager – Special Project’s LNG, responsible for a fleet of mainly LNG carriers.

Projects included taking in operation three 135k m3 LNGC’s in 2005, and four Q-Flex vessels in 2006.

In 2012, employed by AGA-Linde as Project Manager - built and took in operation the world’s first LNG Bunker vessel, LNGF Seagas to supply LNG as Fuel to Viking Grace in Stockholm in 2013.

In 2017 Johan returned to the Schulte Group in Hamburg as Gas Solutions Specialist within the Group's LNG Competence Centre [LCC], where he is specialising in Small Scale LNG, LNGC’s and energy infrastructure projects. The LCC provides LNG market intelligence and guides the Schulte Group’s LNG activities in keeping its long-term strategy in ship owning, ship management, crewing and training to meet future requirements in the natural gas sector. The LCC team consists of LNG professionals with operational management expertise, offering internal and external clients consultancy services in their LNG endeavors.

Within SGMF, Johan represents Schulte Group, as Vice Chairman in the Technical Committee.
