Graduated in Mining Engineering from the Politecnico di Torino, he joins Eni in 1990. He currently holds the position of Director of CCUS, Forestry & Agro-Feedstock. He started his career in the Reservoir Management as Reservoir Engineer in order to deal with the study of fields in Italy, Russia and Kazakhstan. In 1992 he begins his international career, moving first to the UK as a Petroleum Engineer and then to Nigeria and Congo as an Operations Manager, gaining operational and management experience in complex environments. In 2003 he returns to Italy to hold the position of Head of the Operational District of Ortona. In 2006 he moves to Croatia as Managing Director of Eni Croatia, while in 2007 he is called to hold a similar role in Pakistan. He returns to Eni’s headquarters in 2008 initially as Vice President of Management Coordination of Turkmenistan, Iran, Saudi Arabia and China, and then as Senior Vice President of Management Coordination of the Far East and the Pacific. In 2014 he is appointed Chairman and CEO of Tecnomare S.p.A., the engineering company of Eni group. In 2015 he holds the position of Head of the "Gela Area Development Initiatives" Program for the economic recovery of the area and the redevelopment of the territory through a new development model with high economic, environmental and social sustainability. In 2020 he held the position of Director of Italian Upstream Activities. He is president of Assorisorse since July 2018.
