With 20 years of experience in control engineering and simulation modelling, especially in the field of rotating machinery, Dr. Rico Schulze (PhD in Electrical Engineering / Measurement & Control Technology) is currently Head of Business Unit Digital Solutions at AviComp Controls GmbH. Having started his career in the design, implementation and validation of compressor and turbine control systems, he took over the AviComp R&D department in 2009, focusing on the development of digital products and services. Since then, he has been passionate about designing solutions that require both cross-domain knowledge in electrical engineering, process engineering, simulation, and digitalization, as well as a holistic view from requirements analysis to solution implementation. Together with his team, Dr. Schulze has introduced Digital Twin-based rapid control prototyping, virtual commissioning and troubleshooting as well as condition monitoring technologies which have been applied to assets in the process industry worldwide.
