Zhang Chao, PhD, professor-level senior engineer, is currently the Chief Engineer of CNOOC Gas & Power Group Limited and a senior technical expert of CNOOC. Dr. Zhang Chao has led more than 80 national and provincial research projects and achieved breakthroughs in the core technology of the complete LNG industry chain in China, from  liquefaction, transportation, reception and storage, to utilization. He has driven the technological progress of China's LNG industry and established the "natural gas+" technology system. He has presided over and co-edited 7 national and industry standards, published 46 papers, granted 70 patents, received 19 awards at provincial and ministerial level, and published 4 monographs. He has been awarded as one of the advanced figures of innovation in the national petroleum and petrochemical system, one of the top ten scientific and technological figures of CNOOC, and is entitled to a special allowance from the State Council.
